At StubHub, Dr. Sierag is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing dynamic pricing algorithms using Keras in TensorFlow on Google Cloud for online event tickets in a two-sided market. Together with his team Dirk managed to increase sell-through-rate by 15% and revenues by 4% vs tickets that are not priced by the algorithms.
During his time at PROS, Dr. Sierag designed and developed Proof-of-Concepts (POC) of industry-transforming forecasting and dynamic pricing software in Python, both for passenger airlines as well as Air Cargo . Performance tests showed that the algorithms increased forecast accuracy by 40%-60% and increased airline profit margins by 5.5%-11% vs historical performance. Dr. Sierag was also responsible for solving challenges that clients experience in an efficient manner, using Tableau, R, Python and C++.
As a Data Scientist at KLM, Dr. Sierag was responsible for researching, designing, and managing a worldwide implementation of an industry-leading automated b2b dynamic pricing algorithm in Python for their global cargo network. The efforts of his team increased revenues by $10mln/y by reducing workload and offering optimal prices through their algorithm. Dr. Sierag also supervised, co-built and implemented an advanced KPI dashboard in Spotfire, R and SQL for Pricing Analysts, interfacing between Pricing, Sales, and Development.
Dr. Sierag developed revenue management and pricing models during his PhD research at CWI , motivated by data and clients from hotels. Dr. Sierag's research resulted in a POC for hotels, which increasing revenues by up to 20%. Moreover, Dr. Sierag published his research in 9 peer-reviewed papers in renowned scientific journals, a PhD dissertation, and an academic book chapter.
